Kids stay tired of my tail
Kids stay tired of my tail

Okay, this one is from December 2010. It was when I was a Young Life counselor - an evangelical group that infiltrated (take how you want) high schools. I was submerged in the idea that being "the hands and feet of Jesus" meant converting folks. Anyway, we were two months from taking kids to a YL retreat in Georgia, US. This was an email I sent my YL folks to update them on funding for the kids.

What a difference fifteen years can make!

Whoever is in charge has always been on time! I just say the universe now :)

Reminder: I'm just copying and pasting emails to hit my goal of ten posts (by Wednesday) for the tribe to give feedback on the blog as a whole. New content coming soon!

2010 email begins now:

I am sitting here writing you guys in tears. I have been completely humbled by God over the last sixteen hours. I wrote one of the mom's earlier today to give her contact information so she can pay for the retreat by December 31st. At the end of it I wrote "God is good." She wrote back that she is a mother of seven, on disability, her disability check is the only income for the family, and that she's only able to send her one daughter. With all that being said, she also wrote that God is good and on time. An On-time God. What a good word? I wrote that I needed to hear that, and God started opening doors that I'm not able to fully comprehend right now.

She wrote many more responses with such beautiful words about our Father, that I had to share with my friends and family. Then, my friend Allison wrote asking if she could sponsor the girl and would also like to sponsor another student to go. I immediately knew who her money was meant for. I'm more than humbled right now and in disbelief. I've sort of been feeling like God has had me in this holding pattern. And, although He's been very clear that I'm right where He wants me and I just need to wait, I've been impatient and worried that He's sort of forgotten about me.

AND BAM! Here He comes right on time loving on those who need it. And, allowing me to be a part of it. How beautiful is He?!?! I just have to ask what the next step is and do it. He'll take care of the rest. I just needed a reminder.

Anyway, I say all of this to share that we have at least two girls sponsored to go in January, along with the $25 check from our computer technician at school.

I can't wait to see what He does next!

His,

Michelle
